Chronic Pain Syndrome

Chronic pain is long lasting pain which has not been relieved by treating the cause, if known, or by trying to relieve the pain itself. Chronic pain syndrome is a common problem, affecting around 10% of adults. The impact the pain can have on a person’s life varies from minor restrictions to complete loss of independence.

You can claim chronic pain syndrome compensation if you have suffered any type of injury. For example, you may have chronic pain as a result of a work accident, road accident, trip or slip, or military accident.

Fibromyalgia compensation claims

The two main ways that the Fibromyalgia develops are either spontaneously, or as the result of an accident, which is known as post-traumatic fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia can be caused by any type of accident with sudden movement, such as whiplash in a car accident, a slip, trip or fall in a shop, or an accident at work including an injury from manual handling or heavy lifting at work. In some accident at work claims, less strenuous repetitive tasks such as typing have also been known to trigger fibromyalgia.

If you are suffering from the debilitating condition fibromyalgia as a result of an accident that was not your fault, our no win no fee personal injury solicitors can offer legal advice and help you to make a claim for fibromyalgia compensation.

Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome or RSD

Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome or RSD is a serious pain disorder caused by a malfunction in the nervous system which results in severe chronic pain. It is also commonly referred to as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

RSD can be triggered by minor personal injuries, including broken bones, damaged nerves, soft tissue injuries, bruises, sprains, slips and falls and surgical procedures.

Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy often develops when these personal injuries or traumas do not heal properly. It is common for people in road traffic accidents, slips and trips and work related accidents to develop RSD several months afterwards.

Symptoms of RSD can include chronic pain, severe burning pain, unexplained swelling, excessive sweating, sensitivity to touch or unexpected greater pain from your accident injuries.
