Our fantastic staff have donated a van full of items ranging from toys and books, to clothes, DVDs and other goods to a charity very close to our heart – Headway; the brain injury association.
One of our Serious Injury Solicitors, Crispin Balmer, visited Headway’s new shop in Poynton earlier this month to officially donate the items. During his visit, Mr Balmer was able to meet Store Manager Sue Watkins and some of the shop’s brilliant team of volunteer. Headway has 6 stores in the North West and aims to open more in the next 12 months. All of their stores are run by a manager and a team of volunteers selling donated items, the funds from which help the charity to carry out its work.
At Freeclaim Solicitors, we specialise in serious head and brain injuries and are proud to be accredited in Headway’s Solicitor Directory. Headway is a national charity which operates a network of more than 100 groups and branches across the UK, providing support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals in the health and legal fields. We over 30 years’ experience of helping those with head injuries to claim the compensation they are entitled to, we were thrilled to help raise funds for this very important charity.

On return from his visit to the Poynton store, Mr Balmer said, “The staff at Freeclaim Solicitors have been donating items from their own homes in order to make a large group donation to Headway. As a Practice we are dedicated to helping those survivors who have sustained brain injuries to make a full recovery and we consider the work carried out by Headway to be an essential part of rehabilitation. I was thrilled to be invited to Headway’s new Poynton shop to make our donation and I am sure that our staff will continue to look for ways to help this charity in the future.”
Poynton Store Manager Sue Watkins said, “I would like to thank Freeclaim Solicitors on behalf of everyone at Headway. Donations such as this go a long way to helping the charity to provide services to those who have suffered from a head injury. The new store is doing really well, and I would like to thank my Deputy Manager Dilys Leah and our 15 volunteers who give up their time to help us. We have volunteers ranging from teenagers to those in their 80s! They will be very busy sorting and arranging all of the goods donated by Freeclaim Solicitors in the store in the next few weeks.”
