As the weather turns colder, it is inevitable that more potholes will appear on our roads. These potholes are hazardous to any road users, but can have particular consequences for cyclists. It is estimated that 10-15% of accidents to cyclist are as a result of potholes.

The head of road safety at the Royal Society of the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) comments,“The recent poor weather will cause even more potholes on our roads. These create a significant danger to cyclists, who could be unseated if they hit a large or deep pothole, or may be hit by other vehicles if they suddenly swerve around a pothole.”

If you have been injured as a result of a pothole, you may be able to claim compensation for your accident.
