A recent survey has shown that despite the media’s conclusion that we now live in a ‘claim culture’, personal injury claims for compensation are still viewed by the majority as being ‘fair’ if someone has been injured as a result of an accident that wasn’t their fault.
88% of people surveyed would encourage a friend or family member to put forward a claim for compensation after suffering an injury. A further 95% of people thought it was necessary for people to claim compensation after suffering an occupational disease/work illness or an accident at work. The survey also revealed that many people felt that without the ability to claim compensation, people would be less concerned with ensuring their property or workplace was a safe environment.
These results clearly show that members of the British public still feel it is important for personal injury claims for compensation to be achieved when someone has been injured due to failings on someone else’s behalf.
