An OAP who fractured her ankle during a tour of a whisky distillery has been awarded £12,000 accident compensation. Margaret Buttle, aged 82 at the time of the accident, was visiting the distillery, when she tripped over a piece of wood protruding on a set of stairs. This caused her to fall and fracture her ankle. As a result of the fracture, Mrs Buttle could not put any weight on her ankle, and had to be provided with extensive care from her daughter. The distillery agreed damages of £12,000 for Mrs Buttle after agreeing that they had not provided a safe environment for visitors and staff, resulting in the accident.
