Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
Repetitive strain injury (RSI) describes a range of painful conditions (including tenderness and throbbing) of the muscles, tendons and other soft tissues. It is caused by repetitive use of part of the body and is usually related to a job or occupation and therefore classed as a workplace personal injury. Common RSI conditions include: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), Occupational Overuse Syndrome, Work Related Upper Limb Injury Syndrome (WRULS) or Cumulative Trauma Disorder (CTD).
Many people are affected by repetitive strain injury (RSI) due to a repetitive job or hobby. Your employer has a duty to protect you from hazardous substances and hazardous situations whilst you are in work and to minimise the risks of you developing a work related illness or disease.
