If you are involved in an accident, we recommend that you:
• Do stop immediately and try to stay calm.
• Check that everyone involved in the accident is okay and call an ambulance where necessary.
• Take the name, address and insurance details of the other people involved.
• Note the registration numbers of any cars involved.
• Take details of the exact location, time of accident and the names and addresses of any witnesses, and if possible do a rough sketch of the accident.
• Do not make any admissions about liability.
• You must inform the Police within 24 hours.
• See a GP or visit the Accident & Emergency Department straightaway to get treatment for your injuries.
• Keep a record of any time you have taken off work due to your injuries and any expenses incurred. |
