A grandmother who worked at Asda has been awarded £27,000 after a slipping accident at work.
The former bakery assistant slipped on a broken egg in the warehouse and suffered injuries to her back which left her unable to walk long distances or carry heavy objects.
She returned to work and due to her injuries she asked to be put on lighter duties. However the supermarket said there were no positions and subsequently she retired.
The grandmother pursued a compensation claim against Asda who acknowledged that her lifestyle had been seriously curtailed after the accident at work and she was awarded £27,000 accident compensation.
