Scaffolding Accident Payout
Wed 2nd May 12 - 10:25
A man who was seriously injured in a scaffolding accident has had his workplace injury claim settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
Mr. Cording was injured in an accident at work whilst he was moving scaffolding poles at a Power Station when a pallet with 20 scaffolding poles collapsed and trapped him. The firm later admitted that pallet was significantly below the industry standard and therefore unsuitable for the job.
He suffered crush injuries to his right leg and permanent nerve damage. Even after surgery and ongoing rehabilitation, the injuries mean that he will be on painkillers for the rest of his life and he still cannot feel anything in his right foot and part of his left leg.
Due to the injuries he received he has been unable to return to his previous job and has therefore retrained as a welder.
"It has taken me a long time to come to terms with my injuries and I have worked hard to rebuild my life," commented Mr. Cording, "Getting back into work was my priority."
