Lorry Driver Wins RSI Compensation Claim
Mon 26th Apr 10 - 14:21
A female HGV driver has won £13,500 in work accident compensation after developing a Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) to her elbow. The work injury developed after she was forced to continually attach brakes to her HGV twice a day. She complained at work but said that her employers would not listen.
The lorry driver commented about her injuries, "My elbow still causes me pain every day and it makes it difficult to lift and carry. I try hard just to put up with it. "
Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) describes a range of painful conditions (including tenderness and throbbing) of the muscles, tendons and other soft tissues. It is caused by repetitive use of part of the body and is usually related to a job or occupation and therefore classed as a workplace personal injury.
