Injured Shopper Receives Compensation After Supermarket Accident

A shopper injured in an accident whilst shopping will receive compensation from one of the large supermarket chains.
The shopper, an elderly lady suffered personal injuries when she was hit by a pallet truck in the supermarket. The accident happened whilst she was out shopping with her husband, when a pallet truck being pulled by an employee crashed into her scraping her shins, leaving ‘flaps of skin' torn and loose.
The local Council found the supermarket guilty of failing to protect customers from injury and they received a fine of £20,000 and ordered to pay £24,500 in court costs.
Whilst in court, the injured shopper read a statement and said the pain she had experienced was the worse she had ever felt.
